Tesla is expanding its lineup in India, that is Bharat. The Elon Musk-led automotive company has launched Tesla Model Y L, months after introducing it in China. The six-seater EV is an AWD variant. It follows the existing Tesla Model Y variant that entered the country despite the 100% import tariff.

Tesla, according to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA), sold 342 EVs during the 2026 fiscal year. Known as a premium automaker, the company’s growth in Bharat has so far been limited and mostly among top-tier customers.

Features of Tesla Model Y L

The three-row interior focuses on maximum legroom and headroom, along with one-touch folding for the second and third rows. The second row is built with powered armrests, while the third row features power recline and vented climate control. Microphones are attached to the second and third rows for easier voice control.

Tesla Audio system makes the most of acoustic glass, while 19-inch tires ensure minimal noise. Adaptive suspension and electronic damping shocks adapt to different road conditions. Tesla Model Y L comes with a floor-mounted battery pack, which lowers the rollover risk by creating a low center of gravity.

The EV is also packed with Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Avoidance, and Active Emergency Braking. Its core functions include full self-driving capability, front-facing cameras, and blind-spot monitoring.

Specifications of Tesla Model Y L

Loaded with a long-range battery, Tesla Model Y L can reportedly go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds. The supported range is 681 km, with a cargo capacity of 2,539 liters and an overall vehicle weight of 2,088 kg. Its ground clearance is 169 mm and the overall height is 1,668 mm.

The dual-motor all-wheel drive setup supports a 16-inch center touchscreen and an 8-inch second-row touchscreen. Tesla claims the vehicle can add 288 km worth of charge in 15 minutes.

As for its warranty, Model Y L has a basic warranty of 4 years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first. The battery and drive unit feature an 8-year or 192,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.
