:::According to an unsealed US court filing, the revenue of Google Play stood at $11.2 billion in 2019. The revenue was generated through the sale of mobile applications, advertisements on the app store, and in-app purchases. Google Play revealed its revenue as a part of being in the middle of a lawsuit against Utah and 36 other American states for allegedly violating antitrust policies.

According to an unsealed US court filing, the revenue of Google Play stood at $11.2 billion in 2019.

This is for the first time that Google Play has disclosed its revenue. :::CryptoSlam, an NFT aggregation site, reported that CryptoPunks became the second Ethereum-based NFT to touch the billion mark. CryptoPunks has crossed the mark of $1 billion in sales to become second to hit the notable mark in the industry. It currently has a collection of 10,000 Ethereum-based NFTs.

:::WhatsApp reported that it banned around 30 lakh Indian accounts as they were found violating either the Indian laws or Terms of Services of the platform. The report of banning these accounts was released as a part of its 2nd compliance to the new Information Technology (IT) Rules, 2021. The accounts were banned from June 16, 2021, to July 31, 2021. The accounts were banned after the platform received grievances through email or post. A grievance is evaluated before taking any action and the user who has filed the grievance receives a response.

WhatsApp reported that it banned around 30 lakh Indian accounts as they were found violating either the Indian laws or Terms of Services of the platform.

WhatsApp had previously banned 20 lakh accounts during May 15, 2021, and June 15, 2021. :::With a market capitalization of ₹14,00,664.30 crore, Tata Consultancy Services became the second company to hit the mark of ₹14 lakh crore. TCS crossed the golden mark after its shares went up by 2.3% to ₹3,786.55 on the BSE. TCS achieved the mark of ₹13 lakh crore on August 17, 2021, and ₹12 lakh crore in January 2021.

With a market capitalization of ₹14,00,664.30 crore, Tata Consultancy Services became the second company to hit the mark of ₹14 lakh crore.

The first company to cross the market capitalization mark of ₹14 lakh crore was Reliance Industries. Its current market capitalization is ₹14,32,270.38 crore.

:::The updated model of Royal Enfield Classic 350 was launched. It has been priced at ₹1.84 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated version of Classic 350 carries a J-Series 349-cc single-cylinder engine. The engine runs on an air-oil cooled motor and generates a maximum torque of 27 Nm and power of 20.2 PS. The bike comes with two options to choose from, Dual-channel ABS and Single-channel ABS. The single-channel ABS comes with a 300 mm disc break in the front and a 270 mm disc break in the rear. The company has claimed that the bike delivers fuel efficiency of 36.5 kmpl with a configuration of a 5-speed gearbox.

Some other features include a USB charging port, Tripper system for navigation, and digital instrument cluster that shows odometer reading and fuel gauge. :::Shoppers Stop sold Crossword Bookstores to the owners of Agarwal Business House (ABH), Pune. ABH has reported acquired 100% subsidiary in Crossword Bookstores at a market valuation of ₹41.62 crores. It will now own all the assets and brands of Crossword Bookstores. The liabilities to be acquired will be subjected to the final consideration. Venu Nair, the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Shoppers Stop, expressed his confidence in the purchase of the bookstore by ABH and said that he was sure that ABH would take the bookstore brand to greater heights. He also said that the sale of Crossword Bookstores represented another step in making Shoppers Stop a customer-focused retailer.

:::The Irish Data Protection Commission fined WhatsApp ₹1,948 crores (225 million Euros) for reportedly breaching its privacy regulations. The fine was imposed after the Commission concluded its inquiry into the transparency of WhatsApp in sharing the personal data of its users with other companies of Facebook.

WhatsApp responded to the action taken by the Irish Data Protection Commission by saying that the imposition of the fine was completely disproportionate and it would appeal in the higher court. :::Satish Kumbhani, the Founder of BitConnect, was charged with allegedly defrauding its retail investors of $2 billion. BitConnect was a cryptocurrency platform. Satish Kumbhani has been charged by the US Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) for violating the registration laws which are meant to protect the investors. Satish Kumbhani, the Indian citizen and resident of Surat, wrapped up the operations of BitConect in January 2018. His whereabouts since then have not been known.

The US SEC also charged Glenn Arcaro and his firm for fraudulently receiving the referral commission of more than $2 million by acting as the top US promoter of BitConnect.

:::Sarijat Ali and Dinesh Das were arrested by the officials of Salugarah Forest Range for allegedly smuggling 55 parrots. Both of them were arrested in Siliguri, West Bengal after they were found smuggling two breeds of parrots namely Alexandrine Parakeet and Red-Breasted Parakeet. The officials said that the parrots were being smuggled from Malbazar in Jalpaiguri to Galgalia in Bihar on a bike.

Sarijat Ali and Dinesh Das were arrested by the officials of Salugarah Forest Range for allegedly smuggling 55 parrots.

The operation to arrest Sarijat Ali and Dinesh Das was conducted by a special team that was led by Ranger Sanjay Dutta. :::Rajkumar Singh, Arvind Kumar, and Sitaram Kumar were arrested by the Cyber Crime Police of Uttar Pradesh. The three men had reportedly cheated Amazon for over ₹2 crores by exploiting its refund policy. According to Police Officials, the three men would place a prepaid order on Amazon through their fake ids, collect the product, and then report it to be defective. When a representative of Amazon would reach to collect the product, then would collude with him to get the return marked and receive a refund. After that, they would receive the refund and sell the products in the open market of Delhi-NCR.

Rajkumar Singh, Arvind Kumar, and Sitaram Kumar were arrested by the Cyber Crime Police of Uttar Pradesh.

The FIR against them was registered for the cases of cheating, forgery, and criminal conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code and the relevant sections of the IT Act.
