Google Removed Seven Android Apps
A dangerous malware was recently detected after Tatyana Shishkova, Kaspersky’s malware analyst, raised the alarm. Google was fortunately quick enough to remove seven apps that were found to be carrying the Trojan Joker Malware.
The malware posed a great threat to the users. It would sign them up for subscriptions without their knowledge. This could be noticed only if users came across suspicious activity in their bank account.
The seven apps which have been removed from the Play Store are EmojiOne Keyboard, Now OR Code Scan, Battery Charging Animations Battery Wallpaper, Volume Booster Louder Sound Equalizer, Dazzling Keyboard, Classic Emoji Keyboard, and Super-Hero Effect. It is recommended to delete these apps immediately. You may consider installing an antivirus app on your device to keep it secure from such threats.
A Trip To Singapore Is Closer Than It Appears
Indians can rejoice, especially the ones who have a lot of pending responsibilities in Singapore. No matter if it were for educational reasons or professional reasons or simply for leisure, the Covid-19 pandemic affected everyone's travel plan.
First, it was about reaching the destination. This changed to adjusting one’s living arrangement with the quarantine period. This has been relaxed by Singapore as it now allows fully vaccinated people from India to travel and avoid the quarantine period. This latest current affairs update will come into effect from November 29, 2021.
The same is valid for Indonesians, who will be free to travel to Singapore without having to pass through quarantine starting November 29, 2021. People from Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar will be allowed for quarantine-free travel to Singapore from December 06, 2021. The current affairs update was announced by S. Iswaran, the Minister for Transport of Singapore.

Delhi Records Severe Air Quality

Siddhartha Goswami, the Joint Commissioner of Guwahati, clearly stated that spas, salons, and beauty parlors would now be required to keep a transparent door in their chamber or room. It is now prohibited for a professional of one gender to serve a person of another gender. The gender-specific decision was taken after many citizens complained of malpractices.

Apple’s DIY Repair Service
Customers who are comfortable with repairing their iPhones will now be able to repair their devices themselves. The ‘Self Service Repair’ announced by Apple will give access to customers to the genuine parts and tools of their devices.
The genuine tools and parts are first expected to be available for iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models. Apple will extend the Self Service Repair department to its Mac computers that have M1 chips in them. As for iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, the department will initially focus on their display camera and battery issues.
Customers will also have access to manuals from authorized service providers and independent repair service providers. Self Service Repair goes live in the United States of America in early 2022. It would expand to other parts of the country through 2022.
Wonderchef Performs Wonders By Raising ₹150 Crore
Sanjeev Kapoor who made everyone fall in love with food on television is now on the way to becoming one of the successful entrepreneurs in India. Wonderchef, a kitchenware brand co-founded by Sanjeev Kapoor, raised ₹150 crores.
The fund was raised in the fourth round that was led by Sixth Sense Ventures. Other investors who participated in the funding round were The Godrej Family Office and The Lampani Group, to mention a few. Wonderchef has now raised a total of ₹200 crores. Its market valuation stands at ₹750 crores. The recent fundraising has led to an equity dilution of approximately 10%.
Wonderchef was co-founded with Ravi Saxena. It is a Mumbai-based kitchenware brand that operates its online store at https://www.wonderchef.com/.

No New Zealand In U-19 Men’s World Cup
The Under-19 Men’s World Cup is scheduled to begin on January 14, 2021. It will conclude on February 05, 2021. This version would not witness the participation of the cricket team of New Zealand.
The country withdrew its participation citing ‘extensive mandatory quarantine restrictions for minors on their return home’ as the reason. New Zealand’s team has been replaced by the cricket team of Scotland, who had earlier missed their qualification in the Europe qualifiers.
A total of 16 teams are participating in the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup. The tournament will have 48 matches that will be hosted by 4 Caribbean countries including Antigua & Barbuda, Guyana, ST. Kitts & Nevis, and Trinidad & Tobago.
Google To Assist With Covid-19 Vaccination Booking
There has been a barrier of technology for many people to book their Covid-19 vaccination slot. Google is all set to remove this barrier with its Google Assistant.
Google announced that it would pilot run the feature of Google Assistant-enabled vaccine booking flow. It would help a user to book his or her slot for the Covid-19 vaccination. The feature is expected to be available for everyone’s use by early 2022.
While using the CoWIN Android app to book an appointment, the user will receive voice assistance for every step. The feature will be available in English, Hindi, Marathi, and 6 other languages. This was announced by Prabhakar Raghavan, the Senior Vice President of Google, during the 7th edition of the Google For India conference.

Flipkart’s Health Vertical Is Almost Ready
Flipkart is all set to step into the healthcare industry. The Walmart-owned company announced Flipkart Health+ to mark its entry into the healthcare sector.
This comes after Flipkart signed a definitive agreement with SastaSundar Marketplace, a Kolkata-based online platform. The financial details were not revealed; however, it was clarified that Flipkart would acquire a majority stake in SastaSundar Marketplace.
SastaSundar Marketplace was founded by BL Mittal and Ravi Kant Sharma in 2013. The company was last valued in 2019. Its market valuation was calculated at $125 million. It has partnered with around 490 pharmacies till now.
Taiwan’s Name Shines In Vilnius
The capital of Lithuania, Vilnius, has marked the presence of Taiwan’s representatives under the country’s name instead of bearing Chinese Taipei as its official name.
The move comes despite strong opposition from China which had called for the withdrawal of the opening of Taiwan’s Representative Office in Vilnius. China has also threatened to recall its envoy. This turned out to be fruitless as Taiwan finally opened its office in Vilnius.
The Foreign Ministry of Taiwan released an official statement saying that the opening of the new office in Vilnius would charter a new and promising course for the ties with Lithuania.
