:::Nick D'Aloisio sold Sphere, a London-based chat app, to Twitter. He co-founded the app with Tomas Helgas in 2016. Sphere was initially launched as a Question & Answer app. After selling the chat app, all of its twenty employees are set to join the Twitter office shortly.

:::China passed the Land Border Law, which is scheduled to come into effect on January 01, 2022. The People's Republic of China's law has been passed with an objective to manage matters related to the border at a legal level. This s expected to strengthen the border defense of China.

:::Gramophone, an agritech startup, raised ₹75 crores in a funding round that was led by Z3Partners. Other participants were Info Edge, Asha Impact, Siana Capital, and Chona Family Office. Gramophone aims to increase its investment in technologies that reduce the cost and offers more earning opportunities to the local community of agri-entrepreneurs.

Gramophone gives farmers access to the good quality inputs and supplements required for farming. The start-up was founded by Nishant Mahatre, Harshit Gupta, Tauseef Khan, and Ashish Rajan Singh. Ashish Rajan Singh graduated from IIT Madras while other founders graduated from IIM Ahmedabad.


:::Tesla's Model 3 became the first electric car to top the monthly stats of new cars in the European market for September 2021. Tesla reportedly sold over 24,600 units of Model 3 to register a Year-on-Year growth of 58%.

:::Anita Anand, Indian-origin, became the second woman to get appointed as Canada's Defence Minister. She has experience of working as a Procurement Minister. Anita Anand was appointed as a Procurement Minister in 2019. Later, she led the task of successfully purchasing vaccines during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Anita Anand was sworn in for the post of Defence Minister by Governor-General Mary May Simon. The ceremony was performed in Ottawa at Rideau Hall. Her appointment comes as a part of a cabinet reshuffle done by Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister of Canada.


:::HanVoice, a Toronto-based human rights organization, launched a private sponsorship program to resettle the refugees of North Korea in Canada. The program is currently in the pilot stage with the partnership of the Canadian Government. The news was announced by Sean Chung, the Executive Director of HanVoice.

:::The Andhra Pradesh Police issued an official statement saying that it seized nearly ₹2 crores worth of cannabis in the Chintoor area of East Godavari district. The police arrested two people who were found smuggling the cannabis from Visakhapatnam to Hyderabad.

:::The European Union suspended its funds worth approximately $24.02 million towards five programs of the World Health Organization (WHO). The funds have been suspended over the concerns related to the way in which WHO has been handling its sexual abuse scandal in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

As per the reports, around 83 aid workers were involved in the case of sexual coercion during Congo's 10th Ebola epidemic. This includes a quarter of the workers that were employed by WHO.

:::The Gujarat Government launched a program to rehabilitate beggars from Vadodara. As per the program, a beggar would be first identified and then he or she would be brought to a shelter home where proper care would be taken till the time he or she does not become capable of starting a new life. The program involves training all the beggars by offering them a skill-based training session. This will help them to earn a decent livelihood.

Manisha Vakil, the state Social Justice & Empowerment Minister, said that even though the program has been started from Vadodara, the Gujarat Government plans to cover eight major cities of the state in the future.
