:::The Parliament approved Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021. The bill proposes to amend the Income Tax Act, 1961, by scrapping the retrospective tax law.
Taxation Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021, gives the Government the authority to drop all tax demands that were made on Indirect Transfer of Indian assets before May 28, 2012. :::The operations of Cloudtail India will come to an end with effect from May 2022. This is reportedly the result of the Supreme Court of India granting permission to the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to investigate the unfair trade practices carried out by Flipkart and Amazon. Cloudtail India is a joint venture between Amazon and Catamaran Ventures, a company owned by NR Narayana Murthy, the Founder of Infosys.
The partnership was scheduled for renewal in May 2022 but it will now be discontinued.

:::The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) decided to impose a penalty of ₹10,000/- per ATM if certain ATMs of a bank run out of cash. A bank is required to not cross ten hours of cash-out time every month to avoid the penalty. RBI has recommended all the banks monitor and ensure timely replenishment.
The imposition of the penalty would be effective from October 01, 2021, and it would be applicable on banks & White Label ATM Operators.
:::The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) released a statement saying that by 2100, around 12 Indian cities and towns would likely be underwater by up to 2.7 feet. These cities & towns are as follows:
Kandla
Okha
Bhavnagar
Mumbai
Mormugao
Cochin
Paradip
Khidirpur
Visakhapatnam
Chennai
Tuticorin
The statement was issued based on the data analyzed by NASA's Sea Level Change Team. The team is tasked with making extensive data on the future sea-level rise from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) easily accessible to the public.

:::Jasprit Bumrah rose to the ninth spot with 760 points in "Men's Test Ranking: Bowling" of the International Council of Cricket (ICC). He was previously ranked at the nineteenth spot. The jump happened after he took nine wickets against England in the first test match that was played from August 04, 2021, to August 08, 2021.
The list is topped by Pat Cummins with 908 points and he is followed by Ravichandran Ashwin with 856 points. :::The registration process for UGC-NET June 2021 started at the official website of UGC-NET. The last date to apply and submit the application form is September 05, 2021 (11:50 pm) and September 06, 2021 (11:50 pm) respectively. The exam is expected to be scheduled between October 06, 2021, and October 11, 2021.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has compiled the batches of December 202 and June 2021 as the exam for December 2020 was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

:::Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, announced that Indore was now India's first "water plus" city under Swachh Survekshan 2021. This has been achieved by recycling and reusing around 30% of Indore's sewer water.
A city is declared water plus only after all the wastewater released from the residential and commercial establishments is treated to a satisfactory level. The water must be treated before it is released into the environment. :::Vinod Dasari, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Royal Enfield, resigned from his position and as the Executive Director of the Board of Eicher Motors. He has been succeeded by B. Govindarajan, who was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Royal Enfield since 2013. The announcement was made by an official spokesperson of Eicher Motors, while also clarifying that Vinod Dasari would be dedicating his time and efforts to a not-for-profit hospital that he has set up in Chennai.
The resignation of Vinod Dasari came into effect on August 13, 2021.

:::According to the US 2020 Census Data, the white population shrank by 8.6% over the decade while the multi-racial population increased by 276%. The number of multi-racial population was 9 million in 2010 and it rose to 33.8 million in 2020. This is for the first time in history that the white population has declined in the United States of America.
The white population now accounts for only 57.8% of the US population. :::The Assam Cattle Preservation Bill, 2021, was passed by the Assam Assembly. The proposed bill seeks to ban the sale and purchase of beef within a radius of 5 kilometers from a religious place. The law also stresses the transportation ban of beef across the border and prohibits a person from slaughtering the cattle unless he/she holds the necessary clearance certificate issued by the registered veterinary officer of the respective area.
Himanta Biswa Sama, the Chief Minister of Assam, called this a scientific argument to protect the cattle and he dismissed the rumors of being a religious move.
