Microsoft has announced two new launches with deliveries slated to commence in May 2025. The two devices are Microsoft Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 13. Both of them have different features, but two key features are mutual. These are booting Windows 11 and Copilot+ PC Suite.
Prices of Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 13 are currently in US Dollar. Chances are, Microsoft will soon expand availability to other countries and mention applicable prices.
Features of Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 13
Microsoft Surface Pro 12 comes with a 12-inch PixelSense LCD powered by a battery life of up to 16 hours and 12 hours for local video playback and active web usage, respectively. The 2-in-1 device running on a Snapdragon® X Plus (8 Core) processor lacks a power supply, and that has to be bought separately. Or, customers can choose to use the power supply they already have.
Microsoft Surface Pro 12 is compatible with Surface Pro 12-inch Keyboard. Individually, the device weighs 686 grams offering two USB-C ports and two USB 3.2 ports. Customers get Wi-Fi 7 for connectivity and Qualcomm® Adreno™ GPU for graphics. The brand also features as a Neural Processing Unit with Qualcomm® Hexagon™ with 45 TOPS.

Microsoft Surface Laptop 13 shares two key ingredients with Surface Pro 12 - Qualcomm® Hexagon™ with 45 TOPS and Qualcomm® Adreno™ GPU graphics. Surface Laptop 13 runs on a Snapdragon® X Plus (8 Core) processor and features a 13-inch PixelSense touchscreen display.
Microsoft Surface Laptop 13 further offers a refresh rate of 60Hz along with the aspect ratio of 3:2. The strengthened glass display demonstrates a maximum brightness of 400 nits. The battery life is said to be 23 hours and 16 hours for local video playback and active web usage, respectively. It weighs around 1.22kg with a dimension of 11.25 x 8.43 x 0.61 inches as length, width, and height.
Two USB-C ports and two USB 3.2 ports offer support for charging and fast data transfer. It also comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and USB-A 3.1 port. Windows 11 Home connects using Wi-Fi 7 with a preloaded Xbox app and a 30-day trial of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate via Xbox Cloud Gaming. It does contain a power supply combined with a USB-C charging cable.
Price and Variants of Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 13
Microsoft Pro 12 is priced at a starting value of $799.99. Microsoft Surface Laptop 13 is priced at a starting value of $899.99. Actual price may depend on discounts and offers as applicable at the retail outlet or online shopping center. Their prices are, until then, based on variants a customer chooses. Prices in Indian Currency (₹) are expected to be rolled out soon.

Variants of Surface Pro 12 and Surface Laptop 13 are categorized as per their storage capabilities. Both of them come with 16GB RAM, with an option to expand storage up to 512GB. Surface Laptop 13 stands out as it offers variants as per the screen size. Other two are 13.8 inch and 15 inch specifically for the laptop model.
